Our blog’s audience in 2018
=>
A sixth year begins for the « Séries temporelles » blog, and as usual, it is an opportunity to review its audience, and to get a little self-satisfaction.The blog is always receiving more visits. even if the annual growth rate is much lower than the previous years, but still 20%… French visitors constitute only 35% of visits. The United States rank second, followed by Morocco, which is probably an effect of CESBIO’s long presence in Marrakesh. Then come France neighbouring countries.

Until 2015, I used to tal about my blog, but since last year, it has become Simon (Gascoin) and Olivier’s blog. This year, and it’s an excellent piece of news, it turns out it is more and more CESBIO’s blog (or one of CESBIO’s blogs). Several authors contributed: Bastien Rouquié, Jean-François Dejoux, Jordi Etchanchu, Vincent Thierion, Jordi Inglada, Wassim Baba, Florian Helen, Gérard Dedieu et Michel Le Page. Thanks to everyone ! This blog is open, writing a post does not take long ( especially the second and thrid one), and we are waiting for you to contribute, even if you are not a CESBIO member. If you are a user of remote sensing time series, please tell us about your findings, results, hhopes and regrets. This blog is not reserved to optics, and I know a few users of Sentinel-1 within CESBIO that could tell us about the great results they get. Here are the top ranking pages, after having removed the tags, author names, article lists, and summed French and English versions…
What can we tell from thatn :
- The practical pages (download tools, codes, formats) , and the « how it works » series hold most of the first ranks
- Sentinel-2 overtook Landsat, at least here
- Blog articles reporting an event may be momentarily successful, but their reading does not last too long
- As for last year, the example of using Google Earth Engine, published in 2016, attracts much more than articles that denounce its dangers (it’s sad). As Simon said, we would have to quote GEE into each article title.
- Some pages in French have a higher attendance than their English translation, especially those on land use in France, which is normal. But this is also the case of ortho-rectification. Why ?
- The MACCS / MAJA description page is often visited, but I believe that 95% of my articles contain a link to this page …
