« A real advantage over these bloody clouds »

The night was short, but it is with great pride that we have seen the VEGA rocket bring Sentinel-2B to orbit. According to the late night news, Sentinel-2B was in good health, with its solar panels already rotating ! With its full capacity, The Sentinel-2 system will provide us with images every 5 days, over all land surfaces. A geek agronomist and farmer who wrote to me this morning, Xavier Bailleau, summarized perfectly importance of this launch  : « Sentinel-2B will bring us a real advantage over these bloody clouds ! »   

La nuit a été courte, mais c’est avec une grande fierté que nous avons vu la fusée européenne VEGA amener Sentinel-2B sur son orbite. Selon les nouvelles de fin de nuit, Sentinel-2B est en pleine santé, avec ses panneaux solaires déployés et en rotation ! Avec sa constellation au complet, le système Sentinel-2 va nous fournir de belles images tous les 5 jours au dessus de toutes les terres. Xavier Bailleau, un agronome et agriculteur geek, qui m’a écrit ce matin, résume la situation à la perfection : « Sentinel-2B va nous donner un sacré avantage sur ces satanés nuages »
