MAJA 4.8.1 now available
Main improvement : CAMS 48r1
MAJA 4.8 comes with full support for CAMS 48r1 aerosols, with a dedicated set of Look-up Tables that account for the multiple changes of optical properties introduced in the latest CAMS release. MAJA remains backward compatible to the previous CAMS 47r1 products, and switches smoothly depending on product date. The CAMS 48r1 came into production on 27 June 2023. Although the former MAJA 4.7.1 proved to perform well with 48r1 datasets (see our previous post), it could neither handle the new Secondary Organic aerosol nor account for changes in the definition of the refractive indexes and size distribution of Dust.
MAJA 4.8 comes along the ‘camsdownload’ tool that allows you to request the required CAMS fields, and which is backward compatible with CAMS 47r1 and CAMS 46r1 datasets.
Other changes
- The coarse resolution now defaults to 120 meters, while it used to be 240 meters before (unless you provide an existing 240m resolution DTM for a given tile)
- The new ‘rastermask‘ utility now comes along the set of MAJA tools
- The ‘dtmcreation’ tools now better handles recursive directory trees
- The inventory of large CAMS auxiliary datasets is now significantly faster
- Corrupted Sentinel-2 L1C products do not stop the workplan processing anymore
