Training session at CNRSL Beyrouth, Apr. 2019
Beyrouth, 15-16th April, 2019
A training session was organized by CNRS Lebanon at the National Center for Remote Sensing within the frame of the CHAAMS project and the Lebanese-French Observatory of the Environment O-LIFE on April 15-16th 2019. The long history of collaboration between research institutions and technical operators involved in CHAAMS leaded to the development of prototypes of pre-operational solutions to rationalize agricultural water use dedicated to the different targeted end-users. The solutions we propose to build on and to extent include:
• The online decision tools for irrigation water scheduling at the field scale “Satellite for Irrigation” or SATIRR (Le Page et al., 2014).
• The platform for drought monitoring “Mediterranean Drought Index” or MEDI (Le Page et al., 2019)
The training was dedicated to the presentation of the tools including their basic principles and several practical sessions aiming to initiate the process of their adaptation to the Lebanese context. The schedule, the presentations and the practical exercices are available below.
Thanks to Dr. Ali Fadel and Dr. Ghaleb Faour for the organization.
